Being a fan and owner of an n1 deck jacket, of course I had seen the matching pants/pants/overalls that completed the uniform. However, they are not exactly practical for civilian use despite the way they look good. I often looked at them thinking they could be used for something else, which with the large amount of heavy material they are made of.
From research, I could see that most of the components that make up them were ideal for aprons so I found a battered pair to experiment with. I chose them separately, rearranged panels and chalked up a few lines and do you think I was right. Trained as a furniture manufacturer, I wanted a heavy apron that was not denim or leather. I made one for myself that went well, then I did the other. So here they are, nine individual bedford - jungle fabric apron made from usn n-1 bridge suits.
Flexible and adjustable strap strap with clip on fastening button. The buttons on all the aprons are new.
Long 100% cotton, khaki herring apron ribbons. Can be attached behind or double around the front. Fulling backed with calico, adding strength but no weight.
Aprons vary in colour, stains and sun whitening. The material was washed before it was made. All aprons come with one square foot of additional equipment, if repairs are needed in the future.
